Originally, rooibos came from a shrub whose name means “red bush” in Afrikaans. This bush only grows in South Africa because it requires a specific climate and soil. Contrary to its name of “red tea”, it is not a tea and it does not contain caffeine. Rooibos has a rather mild flavor even without the addition of sugar, its infusion is red – brown. If you are looking for a good brew to enjoy before bed, this is the right choice. This infusion is made from the leaves of Aspalathus linearis, without theine. Regarding the virtues that rooibos can offer, it allows in particular to fight against sleep disorders, allergies or to reduce eczema.
